How and where do I do market research online for free?

Where would I find free market research on the chair industry?

  • Have to research about chairs to find a niche in the market and design a chair for a specific market and write a report on my findings. Any statistics or trends I try to access you have to pay for them...can anyone assist me? Can anyone give me any routes to explore??? Please...the report is due soon.

I don't think you can get data with which you can build a report with. Design a basic questionnaire (include demographics, suggestions, likes and dislikes about their current product, etc), go visit people door-to-door and get responses. Also do a few in-depth interviews with furniture shop dealers for good insights. If you can ask your friends to help you out with doing the door-to-door interviews for two days you can easily achieve a sample size of 50-75 which should be fine for a basic report and I don't think your professor would expect more! :-)
