  G scale . And G scale has been a "Puzzle" to the model railroad hobby . In the other scales the track is a constant . HO scale , which is 1/87 reduction, the track width is a scale 4 ft 81/2 in..Every manufacture uses the same standard dimension. In G scale , the track width is a standard, but the scale distance varies from one manufacturer to another . Bachman says it's 3 ft. LGB says it's 1 meter. US Trains says it's 4' 81/2" .The scale varies , but the track dimension stays the same.Couplers ,too have been a problem, with no 2 manufacturers products interchangeable. The NMRA {National Model Railroad Assoc.} adopted industry standards,which all manufacturers use, for all the other scales, Why G scale hasn't is a mystery
