    Now I'm by no means a professional mechanic, but I've done everything from changing the oil to rebuilding a motor over the years. What you described sounds similar to what our truck has a problem with, and our problem was a bad battery connection as well as our fuse box under the dash has a short in it. We having completely lost our dashboard except for our spedometer unless we hold the fuse box in a certain position, then we can check our mileage and gauges. I don't know if this may be of help to you, but it does sound like an electrical or fuse box connection short to me.

More along the lines of you need to take it to the GM dealership & let them look at it. Possibly issue with one of the fuse blocks or bad ground
