My browser history won't delete, why?

How do you delete internet all browser history on IE7?

  • I've tried clicking on tools>delete browser history>delete all and also tried going on computer>internet options>delete broswing history. It deletes most things but still if I ...show more

You need to delete the search history from the toolbars which is separate from deleting the browsing history. For Google toolbar: click on the drop down menu (so that you can see all of your previous searches) and then click on 'Clear History' at the botom right of the search box. See this link which includes a video showing what to do: http://www.google.com/support/toolbar/bin/answer.py?answer=9271 For the Yahoo toolbar: Click the settings button (the avatar) on the Y! toolbar and then click 'Clear Recent Searches'. You may need to also delete the form entries from your browser: From within Internet Explorer: Open the 'Tools' menu, 'Internet Options' and click the 'General' tab. Under 'Browsing History' click the 'Delete' button. Under 'Form Data' click the 'Delete Forms' button.

If you are using yahoo search bar, you will need to learn how to disable the Yahoo Search Assist. Go to Yahoo.com, at the top of the webpage you will see various search options ( Web, Images, Video, News, Local, more...) Click the MORE option and you will see where you can disable the yahoo search assist.
