What bait should i use for bass fishing in a large river?

I like to fish but im not sure what bait is best to use for bass. Whee i fish at is medium depth and the water is dark what should i use thanks!

I would recommend a black Gary Yammamoto Swim Sinko Carolina rigged with a bullet weight, or if you mean live bait then any type of shad, large minnow, or even a worm might work. if there are plenty of leaches in this river then those would work fine to.
