Any calm peaceful lakes where i can go fishing in Los Angeles?

Actually, unlike Bruce, I'd rather keep you AWAY from Lake Casitas. It doesn't stink, it is nice, and if you know what you're doing, it can produce really nice fish. But, it is pounded pretty hard and visited regularly. Local bass clubs have tournaments there on a regular basis, during the day and at night. Specific spots of the shoreline are usually taken by people, too. What little access to shoreline fishing there is, it's taken up by heavy brush. The couple fishing docks that are available are usually crowded. And Lake Casitas is in Ventura County, not Los Angeles. This is also my home lake, my stomping grounds, my home away from home.

OH WHOO... yeesh that was just plain out funny I have no idea why... no really I'm not old but what popped in my mind when I read " loud and smelly and ugly" It reminded me about an ugly smelly usually not loud lake that I go to... (well not so smelly in the winter but horrid in the summer) The dreaded LAKE BALBOA!!!! TREMBLE IN FEAR TO THIS HORRIBLE VACTATION SPOT RIGHT HERE IN SUNNY "encino californa" Nah it's not tooo too bad... But if your going to fish or go too near the lake in the summer NO WAY is that a romatic spot for two... "Starts crackin up again" Hah ha! "Looove burrrrds" I'm sorry! "wipes tears of hilarity off of eyes" Hah I just couldent resist. But if you wanna go to a place that is the oposite of what ya want balboa is your spot. (Well the park itself isn't ugly actually pretty nice the water is what is ugly in the whole park Looks like a muddy bathtub. It stinks cause it's made of partially treated sewage... I think) ... It's not too bad in the winter cause the crap that is literally in the lake isn't very fluidy... but again the park itself is a nice relaxing spot. in thewinter it somehow stinks less. Kinda like the "los angles river" Hah. Anyway after all the hilarity I got from this question... It would be pretty rude not to provide you with a nice lake. Well lake casitas is a pretty nice lookin lake from what I see. I enjoy fishing there. It dosent stink. The park areas are pretty nice looking. The water (to me, in the spots I visited) was either clear or stain... Not muddy though. Then agian I was shore fishing. so out on the lake it may have been clearer. Anyway I encourage you to visit that lake! It's great and the Largemouth bass fishing is pretty damn good. Have a nice trip... Youuuuu Looooouuuuvas! EDIT O o I never thought of that... O O Get away from casitas!!! no link for you! It was hard enough for me to find a fishing spot last time... And I do not own that float tube I wanted yet... Oh well there is allways balboa!! It really is a nice park.. Maybe you should go there alone and look at it first. The lake dosent stink right now cuase it's cold outside. The summer is when it stinks cause it reawakens the stink of the crap that was hard in the winter (it's like when you leave crap sitting there... It gets hard eventually and dosent stink. You poke it with a stick or you apply alot of heat it will melt and will stink again) go now that it's winter it won't stink trust me. I went recently and was suprised!. They have carp and maybe catfish... bluegill... But I have yet to catch a bass out of those waters yet. Maybe A-k is right... They might have died off due to the rest of the competion... And they never restocked. Hmm or maybe they are hiding somewhere else i WILL TRACK YOU EVENTUALLY (Maybe not...) ] oh yeah off point there. It dosent stink (for now) and it usually isn't loud (exept when that turdmonkey with a boat comes along) What kinda idiot drives a boat on balboa??!!! It's a small lake people! why not a kayak or somthing?? He was going fast... Not even a trolling motor Idiot! Oh yeah and lastly it isn't ugly (the lake just looks muddy) I tip.. bring some liquid disinfectant for when you touch the water. becuase if you eat without doing so you will have crap on your hands...
