The variety of race, gender, religion, interests, and backgrounds is incredibly wide. You'll also have a range of people in terms of educational/career goals and background, from the lazy students that you have no idea why or how they ended up at NYU, to the geniuses and future leaders of the country and globe. There are certainly stereotypes that exist, some good, and some bad. Two of the more well-known include NYU's LGBTQ presence, and the hipster presence. All in all, it's a unique university that has something for ANY student of ANY background, and there is undoubtedly a direct relationship between the more you are involved, and the more you enjoy your time there.
