How long does wisdom tooth extraction pain last?

I get mine out on monday and was wondering how long before the pain goes away more specifically how long until i can open my mouth and TALK? i'm supposed to start training ...show more

The pain lasts for a good three or four days. You should be able to talk after 2 days, your jaw may be a little sore, just don't open your mouth too wide. If you have swelling, put ice on your cheeks so that the swelling will go down faster. A good way to prevent longer spans of pain is to clean your holes thoroughly every day. Basically follow all the instructions your surgeon gives you. Infection will cause the pain to last longer and just cause more issues. I'm sure you'll be able to make your appointment and talk just fine, if you take good care of your mouth after surgery.
