  Is this after a repair, or are you asking what a possible problem is? First, get a copy of the workshop manual. It covers many models and years and is good value. Then you go through the normal procedure of checking the electrical and fuel systems, one of the first things to check is compression and put a new set of spark plugs in after that. Fully drain the fuel system and tank, replace all filters, check the thermostat and water impellor, refill with fresh fuel and go from there. If it is running on all cylinders when you do get it going you would look first to fuel or mechanical (compression) issues. Reasonably simple engine with no major vices - thirsty though. Good luck.
