First go to the US book store in any major city. Get ALL the patent books. Follow the instructions and write a " Disclosure Document" mail that to the patent office, and follow the instructions to the letter. After that you have time for researching you idea. Keep records of who talk to and what you talk about, you will need these for your patent filing. When your reasearch is done, make a prototype or demo unit. Then file a patent ap. Get a patent attorney to do this for you. It will cost big time so save your money, you'll need it. I hold a patent for renewable power so I've been through the process.
