if you are plugging in your hdmi connections directly to the tv then i would run a optical cable out of your tv to the optical in on your system if i has one then all you have to do is switch inputs on the tv and it will pass the digital source to your receiver. Make sure you have dolby digital turned on in your ps3 and the cable box and you should have no problems.
