What is the best high definition camcorder?

What is the difference between a dvd, flash memory, minidv, hard disc drive, and high definition camcorder???

  You've already had an excellent answer from Johnny, but let me throw in a note of caution about the "funny angles and different colors". If you record your video that way you're stuck with it - if it's not what you'd hoped for there's no going back. Even worse, if you accidentally leave the camcorder in one of these effects modes you can ruin the next shot and that, of course, will be the shot of a lifetime! If you do it on the PC you can try as many different things as you like and see what works. Oh, and one more note - MiniDV is actually the cheapest, and it's also the best for long term storage!
