  Ok when you jailbreak your device you WILL void the warranty. That should be said straight up, so if you have a warranty you should wait until it's over. Apple will NOT help you if something goes wrong during or after the jailbreak process. Now pros of jailbreaking are as fallows When you jailbreak, you take all of the restrictions of apple firmware and tosses them out the window You can install custom third party themes, change the system strings like when it says slide to unlock or slide to power off, and install tweaks from Cydia like having five by five icons instead of four by four. There are many different things that you can change and install, much to many to compile a list here, but this brings us to the cons. Some bad things are that all themes and packages in Cydia are not secure of coded properly, this means that if your not careful of what things your installing you can cause your iPod to crash. So as I learned the hard way be careful of what you install. However if your willing to do the research/not install random crap and screw up your iPod then I say go a head an Jailbreak it. Remember to sync your iPod before the jailbreak so you can put all your info back after the jailbreak just in case something goes wrong P.S. Yo will not loose all of your apps,songs,ect and I would use reds0w or something else because if you use jailbreakme.com there is one big thing that can happen.
