What is the difference between LCD and plasma tvs? Which is better?

Wiki will tell you the technical differences but in quick reply the LCD is better spec'd than the Plasma. Plasma has its place and uses but these days is a bit old hat with LCD being faster (no blocky, blurry bits in fast-moving pictures) and better resolution (the plasma is probably only 720p HD and not 1080p 'full HD') and is great if you've a laptop or computer with an HDMI output or even just a standard computer output that you want to plug into the TV. LCD is more energy efficient than plasma and LCD produces much, much less waste heat than a plasma does.
