Why will the new yahoo toolbar 8.3 not install?

How do install Yahoo! Messenger WITHOUT the Yahoo! toolbar?

I already have the Google toolbar and prefer it to the Yahoo! one, so I just want to install Messenger without the Yahoo! toolbar. Thanks

Go here instead of trying to get it from the Yahoo messenger site >> http://www.freecreed.com/ymsgr-archive.html I do recommend you get the 8.1.0.421 version as it is the most stable a bug free version of messenger !! When you download it just save it to your desktop and then run the installer from there. If you have XP just double click on it to start the install. If you are on Vista you will need to Right click on it(the installer you just downloaded) then click "Run as Administrator" to get it to install correctly.
