Answer:
Is there some reason that you are unable to do both? Your dad is concerned (and rightly so) that most people really do not make it in the world of entertainment. I know several amazing, brilliant, talented people who did not make it. One lives in a basement and repairs musical instruments to supplement his income from "gigs" and another does computer repair to try to support his family, but they are in financial trouble. My cousin spent her entire life trying to become an actress (she was super talented and also a dancer) but only got a couple of minor TV roles that did not pay the bills. She is now going back to school to support herself. Soooo.....what is your backup plan? There is no reason not to excel in music and art. In fact, your excellence will help you get into a better college. My daughter dances for hours every day and she is your age. However, she also is a top student. So, you can do both. If you do not shoot up to stardom (most people do not) you should have a back up plan. What can you do? Perhaps a teacher, or a professor of music even. This is a good job with a good salary. You should explain to your dad that a well-rounded student who does not just study all day is what colleges are looking for. Smart Asian kids with no life are a dime a dozen. Who knows, maybe you will be famous, I hope so. But if not, have a back up plan.

it's your dream follow it don't give up on any chance you get to be successful Evan if your dad hates it he is just gonna have to suck it up go for you have support from your mom that should be good enough right? keep up with motivating your self and don't like your dad get you down maybe he might have fears that if you do become successful that you will leave home or " grow up " every parent wants there kid to become a doctor or whatever why? cause it makes a lot of money you would have to work your *** off to get there and it's gonna be harder cause your not interested in it go for it take a risk if he doesn't like it ohh well have confident your still very young and you might never have an other opportunity like this one go for it and good luck!
