How do you reset the code for your Mercury Keyless entry pad?

Can I reset the code on the key less entry for my Ford Explorer?

  • I just bought a 1997 Ford Explorer and it has a code pad for the key less entry. Is there anyway I can make the code what I want it to be? Thanks.

  • Answer:

yes you can ,but you have to have an electrical background to read a wiring diagram. so if you have a diagram, and know how and interested ,,,update your question,or go to search for question, i already post an answer ,,similar to yours

yes, you can. But the factory's code will always prevail. The how to is in your Owner's Manuals

Yes I believe so as long as you have the old code. The instructions should be in the owners manual.

If I am not mistaken from my experience with this problem you put the key in the drivers door and turn it to the left and then press a new code into the keypad on the door. Then, turn the key to the up position. Then pull the key out. Then lock the door again, press in you new code and it should work. It has been a while since I have done this but it might work for you. Good luck and I hope it works for you. Let me know and I could possibly find out for you from the dealer I used to work for.
