Do you know of any modern art inspired by traditional art?

Creative People and Artists: How do you know if you should choose a major in the art field or not?

• if, when doing the assignments at school, you are too lazy to do it. But during vacations, you are inspired to create work? Inspired, yet end up never actually doing it (b/c you waste time doing other things like going on the computer as if you're kind of scared to start doing some art? You feel that the start of school again is just coming closer..) What if you enjoy the art classes that you take, but can't imagine doing it all your life or as a career because you can only imagine doing art work for yourself? Ex: I wouldn't be able to sell artwork as I would want to keep it to myself and not let go of it. Also, I can imagine myself doing music all my life. But I can't imagine myself doing it as a career/job...if that makes sense. How do you know when you're making the right decision to major in something, and when you're not? Sorry if this sounds confusing..

  It sounds like you should not try to make a career in art. If you can't at least force yourself to do class assignments in school, or complete projects when you have free time, you won't be able to make it through the major, much less generate client work. And to answer directly; you know you've made the right choice when you are motivated to do even the busywork and learn everything you can even at the basic level. You might not have fun doing a color wheel or still life, but you can make it your own, do something creative with it, and understand how it informs the work you want to make in the future.
