  A B-2 visitor visa is $131. The fee is charged in US$ so I cannot give the price in £ - you have to pay by credit card over the phone and the price in £ will be whatever the credit card company converts it to. There is also the cost of scheduling a visa appointment - the call will cost £1.20 per minute. But if you are a British citizen and satisfy all the Visa Waiver Program requirements, you don't need a visa to go for up to 90 days. In that case all you need to do is pre-register at https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov and you'll be OK if you can answer "No" to all the questions. If you do that, make sure you fill in the green form on the flight, not the white one - it asks all the same questions but that's because the US government is not fully joined up yet - the online ESTA system is very new.
