How to create new process as its own parent process?

Is there software that will help me create a structured decision-making process?

  • I want to experiment with a structured decision-making process for a recurrent situation. I am imagining a menu with say eight ways the decision can be initially categorized. I chose which category the decision falls under, and a menu with three or four yes-no, rate between -2 and +2 type questions pop up. I answer the yes/no questions and do the rating and a decision is generated. I'd like to know: 1) Is there existing software that a user can customize for this kind of project. This is for a hobby, so the stuff sold to corporations is out of my range. 2) If no such prepackaged, price-appropriate software exists, is there any good books written on just how to create this kind of subjective linear decision-making process? (Or, I suppose, are there any good general guides to the use of existing DMS that might be useful to me on thinking about my decision approach?) 3) If no prepackaged software exists, does anybody have any suggestions on a good platform to use: Excel? Access? Something else? Are there examples I could look at? Many thanks for thoughtful replies...

Yes. Check out http://paramountdecisions.com Our decision-making process is based on over 15 years of research and empirical studies. Currently engineers and architects in the AEC industry are the main users of the software to make more transparent group decisions on projects. We have been seeing more and more industries use our software for their decisions. For individual users, we have a free version to help people make better personal decisions (e.g., which car to buy, which job to take, which home to rent, etc.).
