    I feel somewhat the same way. I'm a lot more outgoing than I used to be, but I can have my quiet days. It's not that I'm particularly shy, I'll just be in a dreamy mood, so i tend to lose track of people around me. But yeah, other than my really good friends, i won't talk to other people. I feel if they want to talk to me, they'll do that. If not, i feel they don't like me. & if that's the case, i just won't bother them.

You sound a lot like me. Yes its hard to open up to a crowd but find a common ground and it will be easy to get the ball rolling. Be positive. Don't forget to smile. Its the body language for hello, come talk to me! (But its a bad thing if its overdone.) Introverts are smart. Its not a bad thing. Being stuck up is a completely different thing. Introverts will talk to you if you talk to them but they respect boundaries. Stuck up people wont talk to you at all. They think they are superior or something.

Just keep on being who you are. Later in life, once everyone grows up and matures, you will find that a lot more people respect your quiet reserved and well thought out opinions. You'll also learn that you had (currently have), more admires than you ever imagined.

There's nothing wrong with being introverted, just like there's nothing wrong with being extroverted. However, there is something wrong with being stuck-up.(I don't know if you are, that's just a truth that applies to everbody.) In response to another post: Yes, many introverts are smart, but so are many extroverts.
