  • Answer:

That amp is slightly underpowered but it would still work. The amp puts out 400 RMS (continuous watts) @ 2 ohms. The lowest the subwoofers can be wired to is 2 ohms and they are rated to have 400 RMS each. So with two subwoofers running 400 RMS each you have a total of 800 RMS and the amp only puts out 400 RMS and into two subwoofers would only allow 200 RMS watts of power running the subwoofer. I would look for one that's 800 RMS at 2 ohms. hope this helps.

Edwards, just to let you know under powering a sub is not going to hurt anything, just will not be very loud is all. I do agree with you about not buying anything from Best Buy though. The other thing is this, mono block amps were made specifically for subs, not a 2 or 4 channel amp. You need to learn more about the equipment before giving advice. Carcoolguy, you have a lot of home work to do. First off that amp is not going to get 400 watts rms from that amp, seeing how they have continues and peak wattage the same. No way that is happening from any manufacturer. Look for a better amp, if your going to want an amp that is going to give you 800 watts rms for 2 of those subs. Also look for them at a different shop, best buy sucks.
