Your body adapts to stimuli in a highly specific way, so it will only adapt to the specific types of pain you expose it to. For example, a boxer may cope well with a blow to the face, but won't be any less sensitive to electric shock. Your best bet is to train for the types of pain you expect to be exposed to. Once you decide on what you're training for, there are two general schools of thought in how you should train. Flooding- pretty much just expose yourself to as much of the painful stimuli as you can, as often as you can. Rather effective, but a subject will most likely need to be forced to continue the program. Progressive- start with small amounts of pain, and work up to larger amounts. This is probably the best program for people who might have trouble sticking with a particular program, as it cuts them a little bit of slack.

I believe I have answered this question before recently. In the matter of pain it is an individual thing. Some have more or less tolerance for pain. Unless you have a physical disorder we all experience pain. Pain is the body's early warning system for eminent danger. You can increase your tolerance for pain only from training. There are no easy ways out. I wish there were. I had a somewhat lower than average tolerance to pain when I started training. Now I believe I have overcome that obstacle by training through the pain. It is truly mind over matter. Persistence and reason will prevail if you let them. It is true also that parts of the body will "toughen up" and become more resistant to pain and bruising through careful training. You must endure some discomfort to achieve your goals. Remember also pain is your early warning system to danger so learn to discern what level of pain is acceptable before injury occurs. Since you posted a question in this regard I assume you are experiencing a low threshold of pain. All I can say to this is that it can be overcome. You just because of your individual make up you will have to try a little harder than average. But who the heck wants to be average. Good luck with your training and hang tough.

The best way to do this would be hard body training / body conditioning. This is the method of training your body, at a regular slow pace to break down the condition of your bones in which it remodels itself over time to become stronger to resist that sort of impact. This takes years and years of training and must be done under close supervision, with someone familiar with this kind of training. the more pain you take the more your body gets used to it to suck it up and go and go get hurt!! a good way to increase your pain tolerance is full contact sparring because you get hit hard enough for it to hurt but not for it to do serious damage

Slowly increase the amount of time you are exposed to pain (like getting punched in the head for example). Most of the time it is the though of pain that is the worst of it.
