How much money can I make from recycling tin cans, cardboard boxes, paper, metal cans, plastic bags & bottles?

    It's not how much you can make, but how much you can save. Here, you only get paid cash to recycle pop & beer cans. Some people get paid to recycle copper & aluminum from taking apart old appliances. This county offers bins to recycle paper, cardboard, magazines, glass, plastic & metal cans. Thus, you don't pay for garbage bags & pick-up. I also know of a formerly homeless man who recycled out of dumpsters & was paid cash for glass & metal. It depends where you live. Recycle to save the planet!!!

Copper pipe,and fittings, and scrape brass would bring in the most money.$3 to $4 a pound depending what the market is paying that day. Aluminium cans would be next at some where near a dollar a pound .I think 20 cans would make a pound. Paper and plastic would not be worth recycling they pay by the ton and the market is real low now for those items.Not unless your state has a mandatory recycling program for those items the refund price is stamped on the product.I believe plastic is 5 cents a bottle.

WELL HAILEY, I KNOW FOR A FACT... WE HAVE BOUGHT 2 RINGS 500.00 EACH, MADE 2 TRUCK PAYMENTS OF 622.00 EACH FOR OUR 2005 DUELLY, AND WE DRIVE A CADDY. WE TREAT OURSELVES TO A NICE PRIME RIB DINNER ONCE A MONTH..... ALL FROM RECYCLING BOTTLES AND CANS! PLUS THE EXERCISE WE GET WALKING THE ROADS IS A GREAT CARDIO WORKOUT! WE ARE BOTH RETIRED....AND IT IS A GREAT WAY TO GET YOUR WORKOUTS. LOL WE KNOW A FELLOW WHO HAS 2 SONS WHO TAG ALONG WITH HIM TO DOG SHOWS...... AND IN ONE SEASON THE 2 SONS MADE 13,000.00 DOLLARS FROM BOTTLES AND CANS TOWARDS THEIR COLLEGE FUND. SO ... HAILEY.....GO AHEAD AND RECYCLE THOSE BOTTLE AND CANS AND CLEAN UP THE ROADSIDES THAT THE HUMAN PIGS LITTER UP. SOME FOLKS HAVE MONEY TO JUST CHUCK OUT THEIR WINDOWS..... AND WE WILL SCOOP IT RIGHT UP!!! LOVE THAT TAX FREE MONEY!!!

The people who "recycle" metals like steel and copper at our business drive beat up trucks and have tatoos and look like they never take a bath. I think paper bags and bottles would lead to a even less gracious life style. Just get a job Hailey.
