  • Answer:

You can seek employment with government agencies, labs, universities, non-profits, environmental consultant firms, etc. Entry level jobs with the government with a Bachelor of Science degree start at around $25-30K a year. Consultant firms pay much better, but to get any of these jobs you will need "hands-on" or field experience along with a degree.

There are many tracks. The basic government one for state parks starts about $25k a year. If you get a masters, you might bump that up to $30k. Most also work as teachers at local colleges, so that often augments their salaries. If you can get the big federal jobs, very hard to come by, you could make closer to $70k a year, but I guarantee you will be competing with many other qualified applicants who have served their time as field biologist, have teacher time at the university level, and have various accolades, so you are not going to walk into one of these jobs. Not unless you have friends in high places.
