What is the typical cost to replace garage door torsion spring?

If you pay 20 to 30 bucks, you got a bargain. As for do it yourself, good way to get killed by the spring.... It is absolutely best left to professionals unless you really know what you are doing, or you have really good feelings about your insurance beneficiaries and want to hasten their policy pay-outs!

The Go To Guy is right. This is not something the average person should tackle on their own. These springs can store a very large amount of energy and if it gets away when you are working on it, you can sustain a serious to deadly injury. This is not a DIY job you want to do, the down side is just too much.
