John Coltrane performs a few pieces like this. My favorite of his is probably "In a Sentimental Mood." Youtube link: If you feel like spending some time on youtube, check this guy out. His name is Aubra Graves. He's an elderly man that just plays so nicely. Here's my favorite chart ever as performed by Mr. Graves. My favorite part about this type of music is the snare. They use this stirring technique with brushes.. In combination with the bass line and 2s and 4s on the high hat, it always makes me think of a cold, rainy day in the city. Mmmmmm....
