  I myself play in a middle school band and am going into a high school band next year. I tried for a long time to find a mouthpiece that I liked and ended up getting a meyer 6. I played a hite Premiere for while but the tone quality in my opinion is not very good. The mouthpiece depends on how much you want to spend and kind of music you want to play. If your playing classical music primarily you might want to consider a C*. It's a pretty cheap, but good mouthpiece that is preferred by allot of classic musicians and band instructors. If your looking for a top end strictly classical mouthpiece, then Theowayne is probably your best bet. They make true large chamber mouthpieces that are incredible for classical music. It's hard to find a true large chamber mouthpiece but there are plenty of jazz mouthpieces and ones in between. Meyer, selmer, ricco, vandoren, and countless others make good mouthpieces and the trick is just finding one that you like. Go to a local music store and try some out. Good luck finding a mouthpice!
