  Its not complicated. The chord pattern is fairly basic. Opening --- Dsus4 (D string open, G string at second fret, B string at third fret, and high E at third fret - I often use this as a hammered on chord - get used to playing it! It can make a simple piece sound decent!.) D, Dsus4 for the lead-in "You fill up my sen (G) ses (A) (Bm) like night (G) in a for(D) est (D/C# - Low E open and played, A at fourth fret, D open and played, G at second fret, B at third and high E at second fret [Note: If you are finger picking, you can play a simple D chord here and not play the A string, the difference is very minimal!]) (D/B - same fingering but on the A string move up to the third fret.) Like love in the moun (D/A - Simple D chord, but make sure to play the A string!) tains in spring (G) time (F#m bar at second fret and play an Em two frets down) like a walk (G) in the rain (A7 A open, D at second, G open, B at second and high E open - play all five strings) Like a storm in the des (G) ert (A) (Bm) like a sleep (G) y blue o (D) cean (D/C#) (D/B) You fill (D/A) up my sen (G) ses(F#m) (Em) come file (A7) me a gain (D) (Dsus4) (D) (Dsus4) -- repeat three more times ending with a threepeat of the D Dsus4 pattern. Really nothing much to it. Now some comments on how to play it. Number ONE and most important...keep it in tempo. For some reason everyone wants to rush through this song. Keep it slow and easy. Next, and this probably isn't possible, use a GOOD 12 string guitar. It doesn't sound good on a six and sounds even worst on a cheap 12. I prefer it on my D12-20 compared to my D12-35 because the sound of the 20 isn't quite as bass. I have also played it on Guild and Gibson and it sounded good. If sounded very cheap and tinnie on an Epitone and even worst on a Ovation, but you need to find what you are comfortable with and play with that guitar.
