What does it mean if a Job Posting is removed right before your interview?

  • I have an interview for a job on Thursday. I checked the company's website today and found they removed the posting for the job I'm interviewing for sometime this afternoon. ...show more

  • Answer:

At my company, we will run an ad for only a short time, or until we obtain a number of applicants. Then we select "candidates" from those applicants. If I set up an interview with a candidate, then he/she is being seriously considered for that job.

May very well signify that they have a sufficient no. of candidates...and nothing more.

Could be either. You'll know on the day of the interview. If it's over really fast, then they already have their candidate, but if they seem to be interested in interviewing you, they probably removed the posting because they have enough potential candidates.
