    Yes, it's a good career. There will be a lot of demand for it. I'm puzzled by your comment that "no one in school and or hospitals will tell me." You've been asking the wrong people. Or check with the American Association of Respiratory Care. See http://www.aarc.org/career/ Other similar health care programs that you can find at community colleges also have good futures. That includes becoming a physical therapist assistant. See http://www.apta.org. I'm also confused about your statement that the BLS data might be "just to flood the market to get money for the government." First, people entering or leaving a profession doesn't "get money for the government." Second, BLS analyzes data, specifically labor data. In short, respiratory therapy or other similar programs offer good prospects. I'd just advise you to be a little bit less paranoid. Asking questions is one thing, but . . . Hope that helps.
