Anyone know of a good place in Turkey for a family to rent a villa in August,walking distance to entertainment

I would propose you Turunc in Marmaris..It is so calm for a family, icmeler is nice but also full of bars, if you need cal, Turunc will be the best... Of course you ll not go to Bulgaria as above someone said, not to any slavic country,to do what there?

Didim (Didyma) is the right place i think.Didim is a small town with lots of entertainment,bars,discos and golden beaches especially "Altinkum beach".There are lots of UK citizens who bought villas there and they prefer to spend their holiday there.You can walk to anywhere in Didim.

i can recommend you to go turunc..it is a good place for relaxing and having fun both...not a big place so u can go everywhere by foot:) look at this website before u decide where to go..and u can find a villa to rent from that websites links.. http://www.turkeyturunc.com

I can personally recommend "Club Pinokyo" in Ortakent, Bodrum. My brother, sister-in-law and two children stayed there a couple of times and I visited (I'm based in Turkey) and it seemed to have everything you're looking for. Ortakent is quite lively and only a short dolmus ride from the centre of Bodrum. The club is a short (less than 5 minutes, I think) walk from the beach, restaurants and bars. I can recommend Icmeler, the villas and apartments are first class. The hotels are of a restricted height. The beach is good, the nightlife is excellent, the restaurants are very good and they look after and love children. Icmeler is only a short distance from Marmaris so you can use both resorts. I have been to both but I prefer Icmeler, it is more "up market" & quiet. It will be VERY hot in august. If you do go to Icmeler you will return I am sure.
