  Both are doctors, the difference is that after undergraduate programs and med school they then do more advanced study in their field. That is many years away and you will know yourself, the medical field and can make an informed choice near the end of med school. But either way study hard and get good grades. It is not easy, but you sound bright and if you are committed enough the best result will follow. Just a side note, plastic surgeons choose their cases, as do psych doctors. So once you have your own practice the issues you mentioned won't be issues at all.
