What is a dental assistant career really like?

Which is a better career a dental assistant or a medical assistant?

  • which do you think is a better career medical assistant or a dental assistant??? and would they get paid the same wages??

  • Answer:

none...it takes about the same time as an LPN, and they make about 50% more, so if you by how much they make, try RN a soon you finish your LPN witch is only 9 months, 7 or 8 month to became an ASSISTANT...don't forget you will always get pay as a helper. sorry to be so honest, but that is the truth.

I was a dental assistant for five years in california and the wages are not what i expected. The doctors that pay well have staff that will stay with them forever, so it is hard to find a "good job", I worked in ortho for about 4 years, and loved it, you would probably get paid the most in this field, I also worked in oral surgery for 1 year, and if you can believe got paid way less and did a lot more work, I am now going into the medical field, LVN, if I had to do it again I would have gone straight to nursing school, they get paid more and are in demand always, hope this helps!
