In all honesty, a good interviewer makes you feel relaxed,and like a million bucks. That is not always evidence of being close to getting hired. When these people get together afterwards, they share their impressions. Often (especially in government positions) the offer goes to someone they already had in mind. But feeling good about how you interviewed is a good clue. If you do not get it, just take time to contact them to ask why. Good luck

Keep interviewing! If they do give you the job all is well, but if not then you better keep kicking the bushes. If you get other offers, you can then decide which is best and take that.

You have to keep in mind that if it is a job in ANY level of Government, it is always hurry up and wait. They really do work at their own pace so don't feel discouraged. Also if they have rules(or laws) that govern their hiring process, and they all do, they have to follow them to the letter. I know that our department has the rule of 10. They HAVE TO interview #1 through #10 before offering the job to any of them. Even if they know that it is #4 they want, they still go through all the steps. Good luck.
