What I did was get an AAS in Criminal Justice, and I did my internship with the local sheriff's department, which is who hired me when I was still 21. A 4 year degree would be great, I wish I had one in psychology or acting of some king (why acting? because you have to be convincing with people you don't always like) Military experience gets you points when you test, which moves you up the list of applicants. Don't do drugs (kind of a DUH, but hey, a lot of kids do drugs) Also if you have a volunteer fire department join it.
