What kind of jobs are there for a computer science major?

What kind of jobs can a Computer Science degree get you? And is the pay of these jobs good?

  Every job even lawyers, doctors the salary range can be really good to average salary. My bf is a pharmacist but it hard for him to get a job in the city. He has to work in a small town because too much competition. There are people who sell tickets at the public transit station and they make over 100K because of overtime and these people have high school or college education. You should go for a job that you are interested because that's where the money will be. In terms of the career you listed. Depends what you want to do with computer science degree. I have a computer science degree with specialization in Biomedical Computing. I work in the hospital as a healthcare analyst. My friend have Master's in computer science and he is doing Tech support. There are people who are programmers. the problem with computers is that there are constantly new software so you have to keep learning new programming languages till you retired or move to a new career. A lot of computer jobs are being outsourced to India. I would not recommend majoring in computer science. I think you should do law, engineering or accounting because these don't change that much. It is like my uncle's friend said that my uncle is lucky he is a mechanical engineer because the math doesn't change. So for example you get an accounting degree, you can learn computer programming on your own and become a business analyst. Basically you do statistics and reports but you need programming background to extract the data. Law is a different field since it is more suitable for less logical type of person cause it is mainly memorizing. While Engineering and Computer Science are more for logical and problem solving type of people.Accounting takes really detail and patient person since you will be reading through numbers mainly and detecting anything that looks fishy.
