Interview 2morrow as an entry-level HR Assistant for marketing company...?

  • I have an interview 2morrow with one those marketing companies that does marketing for fortune 500 companies that you see on major job boards all the time as a HR Assistant ...show more

  • Answer:

My best advice for you on these things is to BE CAREFUL. Sometimes these "marketing companies" (sometimes also called "promotions" companies) have a tendency to post jobs like that under the guise of marketing or HR, but they actually turn out to be sales. It's a possibility that this isn't like that, but be prepared for the possibility. However, working in jobs like that can have the advantage of showing you how to deal with people, in a similar capacity to how HR representatives would need to. So think of it as how it would further your career in the field. Best of luck!

one 'secret' is to mirror everything your interviewer does and says. If they sit back in their chair, you sit back in your chair. If they lean forward, you lean forward. If they scratch their head, you scratch your head. If they say, "I like carrots', you say, "I hear that you like carrots." They'll see that you're paying attention. Have the time it's who you know and not what you know. And when it's not who you know, show them that you're paying attention to them.....be careful what you wish for and lots of good luck!
