I want to get a job in Sales, What degree do I need?

It's probably good to get a degree in business administration or marketing ALTHOUGH, most of the very successful sales people I've worked with have degrees in various areas of study, from Art History TO Sociology. I've hired many sales people and the degree was important because it teaches you how to think but the area of study was not important. My degree is in History and Political Science and I have been a very successful sales person and always a sales leader. You won't learn how to sell from a degree and frankly either you can sell or your can't. You can learn sales techniques but most successful sales people have a natural sales personality; they take a sincere interest in other people, know how to relate to other people, can ask very sensitive questions without making it sound like the inquistion, and are enthusiastic without being overbearing. Good luck! Sales is a great career, it's tough work, can be nerve racking but with great rewards!

If you want to get into sales then you should consider a marketing degree. You can get one at most major universities. I don't know where you live but just about any state university will offer a marketing degree in their business college. There are private schools that also offer degrees in marketing, but at a higher cost.
