What to do about cracked toenail?

Cracked toenail???????

  • i somehow managed to crack my toenail in half yesterday what should i do? use a band aid with antibiotics?? and also my nails are polished, should i remove it?

    If you have fakes yes but i don't know many women who wear fakes on their toes. Remove the nail polish, tenderly file the area to smooth it out. then maybe a few coats a clear polish. If its to the nail bed use Liquid skin you can find at Longs to help it heal. At last ends call your Dr. The thing just might fall off in time on its own. Just keep it clean. Good luck friend!

you can try to apply a tea bag on your toe nail. Empty the tea out of the bag, then place it on your nail and use something to make a crease in the bag the shape of your toe nail, next cut the bag. Get a pair of tweezers and something like a pop sickle stick to push the bag down in place. Polish your nail with clear coat and put the tea bag in place using the tweezers, then gently push on it with the pop sickle stick hold it in place with the tweezers. When that dry, apply another coat, let it dry, apply another coat. You can file any loose edges after it all drys well. Leave on for a weak unless you can see that it begins to look infected. Soak in warm salt water to fight infection between applications of tea bag until nail heals.

i would remove the nail polish, this will sting like HELL on the nail that is cracked. it will seer for a few seconds. then, you can buy special nail glue, it is like superglue but make sure you dont actually use superglue. put it along the crack, and then put a plaster over it but make sure the sticky part is not touching the crack this is purely to protect the glue. hope this helps. :)
