Why do some people think shows such as The Simpsons & Family guy are children's shows?

No its because parents dont preview the shows first, and monitor what their kids watch. Meaning, they aren't involved in their kids lives to really dont know whats going on. Simpsons/Family Guy/Futurama/American Dad All these are 14+ older with adult approval to watch.

I grew up watching The Simpsons. I'm now 20 years old. I don't drink, smoke, party, I don't even drink caffeine! We watched it as a family because everyone enjoyed it. My brother was seven years older than me so it was hard to find something that everyone enjoyed doing. That show brought us together every night after dinner.
