there are people serving in war zones with artificial limbs. ask on a miltary board--would they just send an email like this? is it just an email asking if he would like to go back or is it actually an order?

That doesn't sound right. Some may get deployed, depending on injury/disability. Yet if he is a veteran I really doubt it! They do not just send an email either. They will not send a disabled veteran to Afghanistan. They need able bodied people to fight in the war. He is lying to you I really to believe. Also, they are not sending many people to that place as of now, so why would they even send a disabled veteran there? Many guys fake injury, illness etc to get out of going.
