What are the best places to go in Cornwall?

Where are the best places to go camping in Cornwall?

  • Answer:

Hello, We stayed for two weeks at Wheal Rodney Holiday Park during our last trip to Cornwall. It is in the ancient trading town of Marazion, a short walk from the beautiful island-castle of St. Michael's Mount, close to a number of atmospheric pubs, and very nearby to buses. There is a swimming pool and laundry facilities at the campground, the owners are nice, and the rates are affordable. The website for Wheal Rodney is: http://www.whealrodney.co.uk/ You can also walk along the beach to Penzance and enjoy that bustling market town, take a helicopter ride to the Isles of Scilly, or strike out to nearby ancient sites like the Men-An-Tol or Carn Euny. Additional nearby attractions are Land's End, St. Ives, Sennen Cove, Mousehole, the Minack Theater, and the Eden Project. I have a page on VirtualTourist.com with lots of photos, tips, and things to do in the West Cornwall area. Many of these are in walking distance. That site is: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/m/6b... Cornwall is simply incredible, especially the Penwith area (Western Cornwall.) There are views everywhere, and pubs, too. In fact, I became so obsessed with the mystical qualities of the place that my first novel takes place there. =) Another nice place to stay is the campground near Sennen...INCREDIBLE views of the cliffs and Whitesand Bay are just outside your tent. However, this is less central to many of the things I mentioned, unless you will have a car or don't mind relying entirely on public transport. Regards & Enjoy Your Holiday! Newquay - the Cornish surfing capital and a fun place to camp! There are lots of campsites with all the amenities, and close to the lovely blue surfy sea and golden sands! Great place for nightlife too. Beware of choosing a campsite outside of the town as the walk back to the tent always seems to be uphill in Cornwall! This site covers lots of campsites: http://www.bigfreeguide.com/camping/browse-campsites-in-newquay-79-1.html
