What are some good camping places in Oregon?

  • I am going to go camping for my birthday. I want some ideas on where to go. It has to be a first come first serve. If you could just name a place, tell me a little bit about it, and ...show more

  • Answer:

Depends how far you are willing to drive. I'm in Central Oregon and cannot say enough for the Sisters area (Black Butte/Three Finger Jack/Three Creeks) or even the Newberry Caldera (Paulina Lake/East Lake). Within all of these areas are several options for first come/first served car camping site with water, hosts, restroom facilities, and guaranteed gorgeous weather/views and fun activities.

I think KOA campgrounds are the best. They have a camp store, on-site security, grills, cabins, and tent sites plus the rv sites. Usually there some type of activity to participate in and trails to walk. Check for a KOA and consider that, Happy camping. We're going next week.
