How do I fix my XBOX 360 3 red light problem?

Easy: If your XBOX is less than 3 years old, you're guarantee is still on and you can still get one free. If older, you can send it to Microsoft and they'll fix it for $170. In my opinion, get a new one. There will be a price difference but it might be worth it since you get a "free" controller and you might even get games.

Sadly to say but the Red Ring of Death is terminal. Call 18004myxbox and tell them you have the ring. the operator typically will have you do the following though. unplug all connections from the system including Hard drive then have you reconnect the tv wire and power supply and make sure they are plugged in all the way and fit snugly as if they are loose that too can make the lights turn red. Then he will have you turn it on with out the hard drive to see what happens then once it turns red again if it does they will ask for your serial number and will be able to you when you purchased it and if yout still under warranty. The red ring is something MS has extended the warranty on in the past up to 3 years i beleive not sure if thats still the cae now though. if your not under warranty it will cost around 100 dollars to have your system repaired

Its also called the red rings of death. Bad luck. You'll have to send it back to Microsoft. Give them a call, and pack it back to them. Within a couple of days, they will send you a new one. My friend had the same problem. Drove him into tears. But in a week, he got a brand new one from Microsoft. Worth it really.

3 red lights of death. one of the reasons im sticking to the playstation. theres nothing you can do about it that i know of. google it if you want as well but i think all you can do is send it in. i think in images ive seen of it the middle lights stay green its just the outer ones that go red. sorry but ur xbox is screwed

I have an extensive backround in electronics. I do not know the 3 red light problem per se. But have you tried to disconnect everything and restart the system? Unplug the controllers, power supply, memory card and anything else. Turn it on without any controllers plugged in and see if it still flashes. Troubleshoot from there. One step at a time. If nothing else, see if you can get someone to clean the eye of the laser. Good luck.
