    Try restarting the computer first. To find firewall settings, go into Control Panel. On the left side it says classic view. Click classic view. Now scroll through and find firewall settings. It is usually on the bottom row. On the left there should be something that says allow a program through firewall. Scroll down and find windows live messenger and select it. Then click OK. I hope this helps. It might not say the exact same thing on your computer. You just have to mess around.
