Why isn't my msn messenger working?

My Msn messenger isnt working?

i have vista and i tried to download windows live, and it says an error has occurred, i dont care if its windows live or not i just want messenger please help!

well.... msn doesnt care as well it seems,,,,,,,,,,, fair enough unistall it and then reinstall it dont accept all the tools they offer to you during download only tick the MSN nothing else and them i guess it will be okey dont forget after unistalling to restart the pc also after reisntalling to restart once again good luck
