My Aadhar number was generated in 38 days after enrollment. However, laminated Aadhar letter is yet to arrive at the residence even after six months. And chances are that it may not arrive because if you write an email to the UIDAI helpline, they simply ask you to print it online. You print it and take it to bank or LPG distributor and they refuse to take that print because they want original to match with it. In India this sheer madness to compare a Xerox copy with an original is going to continue for long. There is a GR from Central and State Govt saying that eAadhar printout from UIDAI is considered a legal proof of Aadhar and nothing is required to match or compare with it. But the lower levels feign ignorance because they are so used to compare any document you bring in with its respective original. Moreover, banks claim that they dont report to UIDAI or Central or State Govt so those GRs dont matter to them. Banks report to RBI and RBI has not given them any such notification to simply accept eAadhar print. The cabinet secretary needs to inform such decision to Finance Secretary who then informs the RBI of such a govt decision. After that, RBI can issue a notification to all Banking financial institutions in the country. Update- My laminated Aadhar letter arrived in 5 months 16 days and was hung at my door in my absence. Have fun!

after the introduction of e-aadhaar, now the time for processing should reduce as the postal service itself takes 3 to 5 months for printing and posting, which in case of e-aadhaar does not play role, so the estimated time minus a month.....but i would suggest keep on checking for the card through the enrollment ID provided during the registration process.

You maybe entering wrong entry.Common Mistakes in entering data in Aadhar Card Fetching Form Use of Not exact letter (Capital or small). Aadhar is case sensitive. Ex. If your Name is Ashoka and you filling ashoka then you not get your Aadhar.I have seen many Aadhar Card not generated yet, and seen lot of Aadhar card generated after two months, and Many of Before One Month.Note : If you haven't received your Aadhar on the website after 3 months please go to the enrollment center and inquire. Many Aadhar cards now after year 2016 (for LPG Aadhar Connection) were generated within 4 days. I witnessed the same.Concluding this answer I come to a point that whatever recently and previously happened to Aadhar, Now UID GENERATION IS FASTER AND SIMPLER IF YOU PROVIDE THE CORRECT SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS.FOLLOW ME ON https://plus.google.com/u/0/+Taurenidusablogs/posts

Once you register for Aadhaar Card on the spot they give you your Enrollment ID, and after they send your data your Aadhaar Number gets generated which usually takes 1 to 2 months and once your Aadhaar Card Number gets generated you will receive your Aadhaar Card Copy through India Post on your Postal Address. If in any case if you don’t receive your Aadhaar Card by post you can always check status or download copy of your Aadhaar Card Online from UIDAI Official Website.http://e-aadhaar-card.blogspot.com/

Earlier the Aadhaar No. generation used to take around 20-30 days. Currently UIDAI has improved its back-end system and aadhaar generation takes place within maximum of 10-12 days. You will be also intimated about the same on the email & mobile number you must have provided at the time of enrolment.Note: This time starts from the date when the enrolment agency uploads your data on the UIDAI server."EID provided by you is still not available with us" This message indicated that the agency who has done your enrolment has still not uploaded the data on the UIDAI server.Once You get the message that your Aadhaar has been generated you can dwnload the eAadhaar PDF from http://www.eaadhaar.uidai.gov.infication Authority of India. Also you can get Aadhaar PVC Card made at http://www.janaadhaar.com

UIDAI takes approximately one week after uploading of enrollment data by your Enrollment Agency. All i can best guess in your case is that your Enrollment data is lost by enrollment Agency, so you need to Re-enroll for Aadhaar Card.
