What is the worst NHRA reaction time?

NHRA: whats the usual reaction time when it hits green?

  • Im talking about how on tv it shows how long it took for the drivers to hit the gas when green showed. Whats the most common reaction time among drivers (less than 0.219)?

if a perfect light is .000 I would want no more than .040 any more and you have a good chance to lose the race on a hole shot. I don't know the actual average but I would say its around the .04 to .05. In bracket racing (form of drag racing which utilizes a headstart system to equalize the cars) uses a full .500 tree which means each amber comes on individually and there is .500 of a second in between each bulb the reaction times get lower. I have a computer which counts the time down on the tree and launches the car,. If my reaction isn't a .oox, I roll in delay on the computer to get it.
