Are powder boards fine in terrain parks?

  • My two favorite things to do are trails with lots of powder and jumps in the terrain park. So if I get a powder board can I do both? And when I say "can I do" I mean will it ...show more

  • Answer:

In this case No, because it is a directional which means you'll have lots of fun if you land switch and it doesn't have a lot of sidecut so the edge responsiveness will be less. It's also fairly long which would make spins a little harder to do. Capita makes good park boards but this one looks like it is a powder specific board that wouldn't be well suited to park jumps and rails. Lib Tech's Skate Banana would be an awesome board for both POW and the park.

I dunno about that board but I have a K2 Nemesis which is more of an all-mountain board and I can take it through the parks just fine. I hit jumps, half pipes if its not crowded, but I avoid rails as I don't wanna mess up my base.

Judo No

No, powder boards are meant for powder and won't work well at all. I would say just to get a normal sized wide board and be able to both equally as well. Or if you do have money to burn buy 2 boards haha.
